Why June 2025 is Perfect for Van Life Festivals
June hits that sweet spot in the festival calendar. The weather’s generally reliable (though this is Britain, so pack waterproofs!), school holidays haven’t started yet, and the festival infrastructure is fully operational after the spring warm-up events.
Early June kicks off with Westival in stunning Tenby, Wales – a proper music festival that’s embraced the van life community with open arms. Running for five days, it’s perfect if you want to properly settle in and enjoy a longer break.
Mid-June brings the VW specialists into play. Bristol Volksfest and Mighty Dub Fest showcase the best of Volkswagen culture, but both welcome all van types. Don’t worry if you’re rocking a Transit or Sprinter – the community spirit extends to everyone living the van life dream.
Late June culminates with the big one – Glastonbury Festival. While getting tickets feels like winning the lottery, those campervan passes offer a completely different festival experience. No more trudging through mud back to a soggy tent – you’ll have your own comfortable space with proper beds, cooking facilities, and storage for all your festival gear.
Top Tips for June Van Life Festivals
Book Early: June events sell out fast. Glastonbury’s campervan passes are like gold dust, while smaller events often reach capacity weeks in advance.
Weather Prep: June can be glorious or soggy. Pack for both scenarios – sun cream AND waterproofs, shorts AND warm layers.
Power Management: Most festivals are off-grid. Invest in good power banks, consider a portable solar panel, and don’t rely on hook-ups.
Community Spirit: These events are about more than just parking up. Join the social spaces, attend workshops, and chat with fellow van lifers. The connections you make often become lifelong friendships.
Planning Your June Van Life Festival Route
Smart van lifers are already plotting routes that hit multiple events. Starting in Wales with Westival (5-9 June), you could easily cruise over to Bristol Volksfest (6-8 June), then head north for Mighty Dub Fest (13-15 June), before finishing at Glastonbury (25-29 June).
The beauty of van life means you can wild camp between events, explore stunning British countryside, and turn the entire month into one epic adventure. Just remember to book those festival passes early – June 2025 is going to be massive for our community.

Campers & Coffee (7 June) – East Sussex This is the opposite of Glastonbury chaos. Turn up, drink proper coffee, chat about conversions, maybe buy some secondhand kit. It’s literally just van people being van people. I went last September – spent two hours discussing different toilet solutions with a couple from Cornwall. Riveting stuff, but genuinely useful.
Bristol Volksfest (6-8 June) Don’t be put off by the VW focus – they’re sound about other vans. Went in 2023 and my Transit was welcomed with open arms. Proper relaxed, good beer tent, and the Show & Shine is worth seeing even if you’re rocking a budget build like mine was back then.
Mighty Dub Fest (13-15 June) – Alnwick Castle This one’s grown massively but hasn’t lost its soul. Three days, decent bands, and it’s at a bloody castle. The kids’ area is mental if you’ve got little ones, and the trade village actually has useful stuff, not just branded mugs.
What About Glastonbury? Honestly? If you’ve got tickets and £300 for a campervan pass, go for it. But don’t kid yourself it’s a “van life festival” – you’re just camping in a field that happens to allow motorhomes. The experience is brilliant, but it’s Glastonbury first, van community second.
